"It is a bit of a reach to describe this wine as effusively fruity, but it is very rich stuff all the same, and its sweeping aromas and flavors of coffee, sweet earth, tobacco and caramel are not without a good dose of fully ripe berries. Ripeness, in fact, is the operable word here, yet the wine does not lapse into chocolaty excess, and its slight heat notwithstanding, it is an expressive, close-toextravagant Mourvèdre that ranks among the richer and more interesting versions to be had."
