The cooler vintage of 2010 brings out the bright red fruit notes infused with winter spice, cedar, and kalamata olive.   Pairs well with an olive and herb seared flat iron steak or finishing the meal with a five-year aged English Cheddar.  Decant and drink now or hold until 2017.  

Cabernet Sauvignon 37%, Syrah 22%, Mourvedre 20%, Grenache 9%, Cabernet Franc 6%, Counoise 6%.   Taking its name from the inventive spirit of proprietor, Don Van Steenwyk, the wine is a synergistic collaboration of six grape varieties.    Medium bodied, this mature wine begins with a soft textured entry, hinting of mulberries and savory herbs, leading to supple flavors reminiscent of cedar box, grilled toast, mocha, and finally a pepper infused raspberry jam finish.  Ready to enjoy now and through 2014.  1065 cases produced. $25/ $20 club.
 

Dominated by the mildly gamey personality of Mourvedre, the wine is an authentic representation of its unique Westside Paso Robles terroir.  A backbone of minerality, medium bodied, showcasing a compote of dark berries overlaid with a complex North African spice of cumin and coriander and an exotic element of sagebrush. Drinking well now and may be cellared through 2017. Unfined, Unfiltered.

Dark and saturated red color leads to masculine flavors of penetrating dusky fruits with a roasted quality, trending toward dry aged beef.  The aromatics combine elements of Cuban cigar wrapper, olives and subtle gamey notes.  Well structured, its rich chewiness hints of dark plums and cocoa.

Brilliant ruby colored, this wine delivers bright red fruit and lingering hints of rose petals.  Mellow sweet tannins hinting of aromatic cedar complement the just-picked fruit purity.

This Rhône varietal is one of the most often planted varieties in Southern France (Bandol and the Languedoc regions).  Earthy red fruit and spice aromas with vibrant red cherry, spice, and vanilla flavors extend into the lengthy finish.

Le Beaujolais nouveau est arrivé!   This celebratory release of our Gamay Nouveau comes from our HMR Vineyard and is one of the few remaining Gamay vineyards on the Central Coast.  Just in time for the holidays.    Using the traditional carbonic fermentation, the resulting wine is fresh, fruit forward, with youthful candy notes.   It is the most popular vin de primeur, fermented for just a few weeks before being released for sale on the third Thursday of November.

The Tribe is a wine that is flexible in its nature, it isn’t comprised of any one varietal and there are no rules regarding the blending percentages,.  It’s a wine that we make to give our wine club a completely unique perspective on that vintage’s offering. 

The 2009 vintage is a Rhone/Bordeaux blend. The winemaking team spent many hours conducting blending trials and this was the one they were most excited about! For those of you who enjoy blind tastings, this is one that should definitely be thrown in the mix!

Nearing 50 years of age, Adelaida’s 35 acres of historic Pinot Noir vines are situated in a rare mountain microclimate in the folds of the Santa Lucia Mountain range, 14 miles from the ocean.  A brilliant magenta color, with a bit of aeration, the young wine develops an aromatic note of savory rhubarb and freshly brewed tea.  The knit texture and delicate flavors of ripe cherry and subtle sandalwood incense smoke, spice-like flavors of nutmeg and allspice showcase classic varietal characteristic.  Drink now or hold until 2016.  Unfined, unfiltered.
