Grenache

ADELAIDA Grenache 2010
91 points. Wine Advocate, Robert Parker Jr. - August 2013

"Starting off the reds, the 2010 Pinot Noir is a beauty! From vines planted in 1964 and aged 18 months in mostly neutral oak, it offers up a pretty, elegant profile with notions of wild strawberries, cherry, dried flowers and spice flowing to a medium-bodied, supple palate. Already approachable and ready to go, it should continue to drink nicely for 3-4 years. Drink now-2017."

ADELAIDA Grenache 2008
92 points. Wine Advocate, Robert Parker Jr. - August 2011

"The estate's 2008 Grenache Noir opens with high-toned aromatics that meld into a core of red cherries, raspberries, crushed flowers and tobacco. This soft, accessible Grenache seems ideal for near-term drinking."  - Antonio Galloni
90 points. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine -July 2011
"...This wine is balanced but not especially tannic and seems to invite early drinking even though it clearly has the depth and solidity to last for several years yet. Grenache may be a work in progress in California, but this one makes a great case for optimism about the grape's future."

ADELAIDA Grenache 2007
90 points. International Wine Cellar, Stephen Tanzer - November 2010

"Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed scents of red berry preserves, dried rose, incense and licorice, along with a spicy undertone. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavors show very good clarity, silky texture and an exotic floral pastille quality. Eerily pinot-like, with excellent finishing freshness and persistence. The altitude of this vineyard was a huge benefit in this hot vintage, Culton told me."
