ADELAIDA Viognier Glenrose Vineyard 2009
92 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The 2009 Viognier is gorgeous. Layers of juicy peach, mango, flowers and minerals emerge from this textured, elegant wine. The integration of the 100% French oak (34%) new is simply brilliant. A long, polished finish rounds things out nicely. This is a beautifully balanced, harmonious white that merits serious consideration." - Antonio Galloni
ADELAIDA Grenache 2008
92 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The estate's 2008 Grenache Noir opens with high-toned aromatics that meld into a core of red cherries, raspberries, crushed flowers and tobacco. This soft, accessible Grenache seems ideal for near-term drinking." - Antonio Galloni
90 points, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine -July 2011
"...This wine is balanced but not especially tannic and seems to invite early drinking even though it clearly has the depth and solidity to last for several years yet. Grenache may be a work in progress in California, but this one makes a great case for optimism about the grape's future."
ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2008
91 points, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine -February 2011
"...Very long on optimally ripened, black-cherry fruit and decked out with lots of sweet oak, this wine is unwavering in its keen varietal focus and, after a bit of a bit of bluster to start, surprises by being both big and well-balanced."
ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Reserve 2008
92+ points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The 2008 Syrah Reserve Viking Vineyard is a big, bold wine loaded with blue and black fruit. Darker hints of licorice, tar and violets develop in the glass, but ultimately this is pretty tamed Syrah that shows the more elegant side of the grape's personality. Firm yet well integrated tannins frame the finish." - Antonio Galloni
91 points, Stephen Tanzer, Int'l Wine Cellar - November/December 2011
Bright purple. Fragrant bouquet evokes black and blue fruits, violet and smoky Indian spices. Lush and creamy in texture, with very good depth to its dark fruit preserve flavors. Silky tannins add shape and grip to the long, juicy, very energetic finish.
ADELAIDA Syrah Anna's Vineyard 2008
91 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The 2008 Syrah Anna's Vineyard is a gorgeous, beautifully balanced wine laced with blueberries, blackberries and sweet spices. It shows impeccable polish from start to finish, along with an elegant, refined personality. This is a stunning wine for the money." - Antonio Galloni
90 points, Stephen Tanzer, Int'l Wine Cellar - November/December 2011
Bright purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, olive and Indian spices. Displays textbook syrah flavors of smoky dark berries, olive and candied flowers. Seductive right now but building tannins suggest that this wine will age slowly. The finish repeats the smoke and floral notes and hangs on tenaciously.
ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2008
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The 2008 Version is an absolutely delicious, joyous red bursting with fruit. A bright vein of minerality underpins dark cherries, flowers, licorice and sweet spices, all of which come together nicely on a mid-weight frame. It is a relatively floral, red fruited wine considering the prevalence of Mourvedre and Syrah in the blend." -Antonio Galloni
91 points, Wine Enthusiast - November 2011
"With this Mourvedre-dominated wine, Adelaida vies for supremacy in the red Rhône-syle competition. The wine is rich in jammy cherry, raspberry and blackberry jam fruit, with smoky oak overtones and lots of exotic spices. The richness is balanced by acidity and firmly sweet, ripe tannins. An impressive wine to drink with Indian food, or a steak wtih french fried potatoes."
ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2007
92 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate -August 2010
"...the 2007 Syrah Viking Estate Reserve, is big, full-bodied, broad, and juicy, with an inky/purple color and loads of blackberry and cassis fruits as well as hints of licorice, camphor, and pepper. The wine is layered, full-bodied, very impressive, yet at the same time retains its elegance and impressive overall purity. "
91 points, Wine Enthusiast - February 2011

ADELAIDA Syrah Glenrose Vineyard Reserve 2007
93 points, Wine Enthusiast - February 2011
91 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"...Inky violet. Sexy, oak-spiced cherry and dark berries on the nose. Smooth and seamless in texture, with deep blackberry and cherry-vanilla flavors that are energized by tangy acidity. Blends richness and vivacity smoothly and finishes with very good clarity and spicy, smoky persistence."
ADELAIDA Viognier 2008
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2010
"The 2008 Viognier from the Glenrose Vineyard has a quasi-European, finesse style to it, although it is hard to hide the more tropical side of this varietal in California. Some nice minerality intermixed with apricot marmalade and tropical fruit is buttressed by crisp acidity in this rich, medium to full-bodied, dry, fleshy wine. It should drink nicely for 1-2 years. "
90 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellars - November 2010
92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - March 2010
ADELAIDA Zinfandel Michael's 2008
90 Points, Stephen Tanzer, Int'l Wine Cellar - November/December 2011
Bright ruby. A pungent bouquet evokes dark berries, tobacco and vanilla, with a spicy nuance gaining strength with air. Fresh and energetic on the palate, showing a velvety texture and juicy blackberry and cassis flavors. The smoky finish features very good clarity and bite.
ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2007
91 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"Vivid ruby. Ripe blackcurrant, cherry-vanilla and mocha on the nose. Broad, palate-staining dark fruit flavors are framed by supple tannins and pick up spice and candied licorice qualities with air. Becomes sweeter on the finish, with the cherry and spice notes repeating. Pretty sexy wine, with the depth to age but round and sweet enough to enjoy young."
ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Estate Vineyard Reserve 2007
91 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"Bright red. High-pitched aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and Asian spices are complemented by a subtle smoky quality. Zesty and precise, with tangy red berry flavors that show very good focus and pick up a touch of allspice in the mid-palate. A suave, elegant wine that belies both the vintage and the region, where too many pinots are dull and roasted."
ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Chelle Mountian Vineyard Reserve 2007
90 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"Opaque purple. Sexy, perfumed and complex on the nose, displaying scents of candied dark fruits, cherry-cola and smoked meat. The syrah is making a statement today. Rich and fleshy, with broad blackcurrant and boysenberry flavors that show a slightly roasted quality. Fresher on the finish, which leaves sappy red and dark berry and vanilla notes behind. This could stand up to an assertively seasoned piece of grilled red meat."
ADELAIDA Grenache 2007
90 points, Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed scents of red berry preserves, dried rose, incense and licorice, along with a spicy undertone. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavors show very good clarity, silky texture and an exotic floral pastille quality. Eerily pinot-like, with excellent finishing freshness and persistence. The altitude of this vineyard was a huge benefit in this hot vintage, Culton told me."
ADELAIDA Version (Rhone Style) White 2008
91 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2010
"I also admired their 2008 Version, a blend of 58% Roussanne and 42% Grenache Blanc. A bigger, thicker wine than the Viognier, no doubt due to all the honey and waxy notes that the Roussanne grape offers, this wine displays loads of white currant, citrus, and honeysuckle in a dense style with plenty of body and personality. This big wine is not for the faint of heart, but I like the idea of blending the more elegant and acidic Grenache with the fatter, richer Roussanne. It should drink nicely for several years as well. "
92 points, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - June 2010
ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2007
92 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate -August 2010
"The serious, Provencal-inspired 2007 Version, a blend of 42% Mourvedre, 22% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 9% Counoise, and 7% Cinsault, has a beautifully complex nose of roasted herbs, black cherries, black currants, lavender, and tobacco leaf. It’s a dead ringer for a peppery southern Rhône. Silky, round, full-bodied flavors coat the mouth, but are never heavy or cloying. This is a beauty to drink over the next 5-6 years."

ADELAIDA Zinfandel Michael's Vineyard 2007

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2006
94 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2009
"The 2006 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate is a French Hermitage-like effort made from the Estrella clone of Syrah (believed to have come from Chapoutier’s Hermitage vineyards). A chalky character interwoven with copious quantities of damp earth, licorice, lavender, blackberries, and cassis are followed by a full-bodied, gorgeously proportioned, layered, superbly concentrated wine displaying tremendous persistence as well as length. Both subtle and powerful, it is a brilliant example of west side Paso Robles Syrah. "

"The 2006 Syrah Reserve Glenrose Vineyard is a more subtle, slightly toned-down effort. Full-bodied with plenty of smoky, forest floor, spring flower, black and red fruit notes, it is a layered, voluptuously-textured wine with superb depth and purity. Consume it over the next 7-8 years."

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2006
91 points, The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker, Jr. August 2009
"The sexy 2006 Version Proprietary Red (38% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and tiny amounts of Counoise and Cinsault) offers seductive notes of kirsch liqueur, black currants, forest floor, loamy soil, pepper, and spice. This Mediterranean-styled red is broad, full-bodied, and savory without a hard edge to be found. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. It is an excellent bargain for a wine of this quality. "
ADELAIDA Syrah Anna's Vineyard 2006
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2009
"The outstanding 2006 Syrah Anna’s Estate exhibits this varietal’s gamy, meaty style with attractive barbecue/smoked meat, camphor, cassis, and acacia flower notes. The super-complex aromatics are accompanied by a round, medium to full-bodied wine with sweet tannin, good substance, and fine purity. Enjoy it over the next 5-7 years."
ADELAIDA Viognier 2007
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2009
"More exotic and flamboyant is the 2007 Viognier Glenrose Vineyard. It possesses plenty of apricot and jammy peach characteristics in addition to good crisp acidity underlying its exuberant floral and tropical fruit-filled personality. Fresh, full-bodied, and impeccably well-balanced, it, too, should be consumed in its first 1-2 years of life."
Best of Class, The San Francisco Wine Chronicle Competition 2009
ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2005
91 points, Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2008

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2006
94 points, The Wine Enthusiast - May 2009 TOP 100 WINES OF THE YEAR!
"This bottling is always quite good, but it excels in 2006. Shows lusher, more exotic notes than ever before, just oozing in tiers of black and red cherry compote, currants, mocha, cinnamon, anise and pepper flavors. Finishes thoroughly dry, a beautifully crafted Pinot that will change your mind about Paso Robles."
ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) White Glenrose Vineyard 2006
91 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2008
"The superb 2006 Grenache Blanc/Roussanne from Glenrose Vineyard possesses classic notes of honeysuckle, rose petals, flowers, and tropical fruit. Impressively deep, rich, and dry with a gorgeous texture, this beauty can be drunk now and over the following two years."
ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red Glenrose Vineyard 2005
90 points, The Wine Advocate, Issue 177, Robert Parker, Jr. - June 2008
"The 2005 Version Proprietary Red Wine Glenrose Vineyard is a combination of 40% Mourvedre, 27% Syrah, and small amounts of Counoise, Grenache, and Cinsault. Its complex Cotes du Rhône-like bouquet includes scents of figs, plums, cherries, underbrush, earth, and forest floor. It is an outstanding example of a Rhone Ranger made in a French style. Drink it over the next 5-6 years."

ADELAIDA Syrah Glenrose Vineyard Reserve 2005
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2008
"Made in a lighter style, the 2005 Syrah Reserve Glenrose Vineyard displays a hint of bacon fat, a restrained oak component, and Crozes-Hermitage-like notes of tapenade, herbs, and black fruits. This medium-bodied Syrah should drink nicely for 3-4 years."
ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2004
90 points, The Wine Enthusiast - April 2008
"This wine is soft with some nice layers, and delicious in blackberry, cherry, currant, licorice and smoky oak flavors that finish dry, with a scour of sweet tannins"
Gold Medal, The 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.
ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve 2004
90 points, Connoisseur's Guide- April 2008
"Of the three ripe and rich Cabernets from Adelaida, this one is the most mannerly. Its aromas of black plums, black cherries, walnuts, cassis and creamy oak are inviting at the first sniff, and they only get richer and deeper as the wine airs. It has a smooth, almost gentle feel at entry, but it comes with firming acids and enough tannin to be solid in its latter half and to pro-vide a bit of aging potential as well."
ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2005
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007
"The ripe, medium-bodied 2005 Grenache Blanc/Roussanne (57% and 43% respectively) exhibits excellent aromas of flowers, rosewater, white citrus, and orange rind as well as plenty of richness, acidity, and freshness. Consume it over the next 2-3 years."
Best of Class, Gold Medal, The 2007 Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition.
ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2004
90 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006
"My favorite white here is the 2004 Rhone Style White, which is a blend of 52% Roussanne and 48% Grenache Blanc. Honeyed grapefruit, lemon butter, rosewater, fig, and spice notes jump from the glass of this savory, medium to full-bodied, fleshy offering. With good underlying acidity, it would be a perfect foil for a fleshy, Copper River salmon."
ADELAIDA Viognier 2004
90 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006
"The flamboyant 2004 Viognier Glenrose Vineyard's litchi nut and rose petal-scented nose is followed by deep, full-bodied flavors, excellent ripeness, and a fleshy texture as well as finish."
ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2004
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007
"The medium ruby-hued 2004 Version Proprietary Red is a blend of 34% Mourvedre, 22% Syrah, 18% Grenache, 14% Counoise, and 12% Cinsault from the Glenrose Vineyard. This is a complex, dark ruby-hued red displaying a big, sweet nose of spice box, pepper, plums, currants, loamy soil, and leafy vegetation. Lush, round, and nearly opulent, this is a seductive, fairly priced effort to enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Bravo!"
ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2004
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007
"The most structured, aromatic, complex, and richest is the 2004 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate Vineyard. Copious quantities of black raspberry jam-like notes intermixed with cassis, spring flowers, licorice, and earth emerge from this medium to full-bodied effort. Good freshness and length suggest it will last for 5-6 years."
ADELAIDA Syrah Chelle Mountain Vineyard Reserve 2004
92 points, The Wine Enthusiast- May 2008
"Here’s a wine that grabs your attention for its complex, authoritative structure. The York Mountain AVA is in a cooler, hilly part of western Paso Robles, wide open to Pacific influence, and you can taste the salty sea breeze in the crisp acidity and fine tannins, not to mention the white pepper flavors that give a piquant spiciness to the blackberries and mocha. Drink this fine young Syrah now, or hold for up to six years."
ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2003
91 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006
"From a limestone vineyard planted in 1992, the impressive, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Syrah Reserve Viking Vineyard boasts a beautifully pure bouquet of white flowers, blackberries, and a hint of toasty oak. Full-bodied, structured, and rich with ripe tannin, abundant fruit, and plenty of extract, this dense, well-balanced Syrah will drink well for a decade."
ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2002
91 Points, Two Puffs, Good Value, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - February 2005
"Nicely fruited and very well-focused from its first sniff through to its lengthy finish, this impeccably balanced wine gets its admirable ratings without resorting to blatant ripeness or excessive oak. Its touches of vanillin spice serve as a comfortable counterpoint to its ongoing themes of juicy red cherries, and its supple, slightly velvety feel is the stuff of very good Pinot Noir. If certainly capable of getting better over the next few years, it is delicious right now and invites near-term enjoyment."
ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2002
92 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005
"The impressive light green/gold-colored 2002 Roussanne/Grenache Blanc (44% of the former and 56% of the latter) reveals a white Hermitage-like character with hints of white currants, licorice, flowers, and stone fruits. Possessing a full-bodied, authoritative style, it should drink well for 2-3 years."
90 Points - Wine Enthusiast Magazine - October 2005.
ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2002
91 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005
"The 2002 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate exhibits a saturated color in addition to smoky, blackberry, and black tea aromas intermixed with notions of lard, oak, and underbrush. Pure and ripe, with a tightly-knit, structured, big personality, it requires another 1-2 years of bottle age, and should drink well for a decade." 91 Points, Two Puffs, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - July 2006
ADELAIDA Syrah 2002
90 Points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005
"Readers seeking an open-knit Syrah, with abundant notes of bacon fat and smoke should check out the 2002 Syrah from three vineyards, Glenrose, DeBro, and Viking. This medium-bodied, elegant effort offers attractive perfume, finesse rather than power, and admirable purity as well as depth. Drink it over the next 3-4 years."
