Chardonnay

ADELAIDA Chardonnay HMR Vineyard 2010
92 points,.Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- June 2012

"We admit that fine Chardonnay does not leap to mind when we think about Paso Robles, but this very deep and generously filled offering reminds that the HMR Vineyard is a unique site. Intensely fruity and framed with lovely oak, the wine is very well-balanced with plenty of vitality even while being rounded and fleshy in feel. While its youthful directness must be noted, there is no question but that it will gain with age and that it should be held for a couple of years."
92 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
The 2010 Chardonnay HMR Vineyard is a pretty, round wine laced with juicy, expressive fruit. Layers of melon, pear, butter and a hint of spices wrap around the fleshy finish. This is an especially round, generous style of Chardonnay, but it works.
90 points, Robert Parker Jr.,  The Wine Advocate - August 2012.

Viognier

ADELAIDA Viognier Anna's Vineyard 2012
95 points. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- February 2014
"Its youthful tightness at first whiff notwithstanding, this wine delivers deep and exceptionally well-focused Viognier varietal notes of peach, pear and jasmine with a minerally streak in the background of its inviting aromas. Very full on the palate and running to unctuousness in texture and flavor yet not at all heavy at any point, it is bound to outlast its early-times firmness and fill out further. As nice as it is today, this wine will happily reward a few years patience."

ADELAIDA Viognier Anna's and Glenrose Vineyard 2011
91 points,.Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- August 2013
"This is not the first time that Adelaida has hit the mark with Viognier, and this full and very generous offering is rife with honeysuckle, peaches and Asian pears, yet it does not trade on sweetness and is singularly driven by fruit. It allows just a touch of heat to emerge at the finish, but it is exceptionally well-balanced and built for the table, and it never once wanders to excess."

ADELAIDA Viognier Glenrose Vineyard 2010
90 points. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- March 2013

"Rich, ripe and well-fruited with a keen sense of sweet peaches and a trim of hardwoody spice that runs its length, this explicit and very continuous offering is all Viognier at its heart. It is full-bodied and slightly oily in texture with good balancing acidity for brightness and life, and, while its finishing heat is no surprise, neither is it a significant distraction. There is no need to rush in drinking it up, but it is a deep and thoroughly enjoyable wine that is ready to go now.

ADELAIDA Viognier Glenrose Vineyard 2009
92 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011

"The 2009 Viognier is gorgeous. Layers of juicy peach, mango, flowers and minerals emerge from this textured, elegant wine. The integration of the 100% French oak (34%) new is simply brilliant. A long, polished finish rounds things out nicely. This is a beautifully balanced, harmonious white that merits serious consideration." - Antonio Galloni

ADELAIDA Viognier 2008
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2010
"The 2008 Viognier from the Glenrose Vineyard has a quasi-European, finesse style to it, although it is hard to hide the more tropical side of this varietal in California. Some nice minerality intermixed with apricot marmalade and tropical fruit is buttressed by crisp acidity in this rich, medium to full-bodied, dry, fleshy wine. It should drink nicely for 1-2 years. "
90 points. Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellars - November 2010
92 points. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - March 2010

ADELAIDA Viognier 2007
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2009

"More exotic and flamboyant is the 2007 Viognier Glenrose Vineyard. It possesses plenty of apricot and jammy peach characteristics in addition to good crisp acidity underlying its exuberant floral and tropical fruit-filled personality. Fresh, full-bodied, and impeccably well-balanced, it, too, should be consumed in its first 1-2 years of life."
Best of Class, The San Francisco Wine Chronicle Competition 2009

ADELAIDA Viognier 2004
90 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006

"The flamboyant 2004 Viognier Glenrose Vineyard's litchi nut and rose petal-scented nose is followed by deep, full-bodied flavors, excellent ripeness, and a fleshy texture as well as finish."

ADELAIDA Finder 2011
90 points.  Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2013
A blend of 40% Picpoul, 32% Grenache Blanc, 20% Viognier and 8% Roussanne, the 2011 Finder is a beautiful, fresh white that’s loaded with notions of pear, white peach, lemongrass and citrus rind-like aromas and flavors. Upfront, supple and with a nice balance between richness and freshness, it gains in depth and length with air and is a serious, classy white. Enjoy it over the coming year or two. Drink now-2015. Jeb Dunnuck.
Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition.  Best in Class 2013.

ADELAIDA Version White 2010
90 points. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- August 2013
There is no getting away from the fact this rich and moderately complex offering sits on the riper end of the spectrum, but its ripeness is manifest in its depth and its expressive, very deep fruit and not in heaviness or heat. While fairly full-bodied, it is balanced and surprisingly lively with a fascinating mix of green peach, fresh flowers and hints of hardwoods that are joined by a minerally tang in its lingering finish. As expressive as it is now, it has not yet reached its peak, and we would be more than willing to put it away for couple of years.

ADELAIDA Version (Rhone Style) White 2008
91 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2010

"I also admired their 2008 Version, a blend of 58% Roussanne and 42% Grenache Blanc. A bigger, thicker wine than the Viognier, no doubt due to all the honey and waxy notes that the Roussanne grape offers, this wine displays loads of white currant, citrus, and honeysuckle in a dense style with plenty of body and personality. This big wine is not for the faint of heart, but I like the idea of blending the more elegant and acidic Grenache with the fatter, richer Roussanne. It should drink nicely for several years as well. "
92 points. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - June 2010

ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2005
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007

"The ripe, medium-bodied 2005 Grenache Blanc/Roussanne (57% and 43% respectively) exhibits excellent aromas of flowers, rosewater, white citrus, and orange rind as well as plenty of richness, acidity, and freshness. Consume it over the next 2-3 years."
Best of Class and Gold Medal. The 2007 Los Angeles International Wine & Spirits Competition.

ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2004
90 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006

"My favorite white here is the 2004 Rhone Style White, which is a blend of 52% Roussanne and 48% Grenache Blanc. Honeyed grapefruit, lemon butter, rosewater, fig, and spice notes jump from the glass of this savory, medium to full-bodied, fleshy offering. With good underlying acidity, it would be a perfect foil for a fleshy, Copper River salmon."

ADELAIDA Roussanne/Grenache Blanc Rhône Style White 2002
92 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005

"The impressive light green/gold-colored 2002 Roussanne/Grenache Blanc (44% of the former and 56% of the latter) reveals a white Hermitage-like character with hints of white currants, licorice, flowers, and stone fruits. Possessing a full-bodied, authoritative style, it should drink well for 2-3 years."
90 Points. Wine Enthusiast Magazine - October 2005.

Rosé

ADELAIDA Version Rosé2012
90 points.  Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2013
An outstanding rose that’s made from Cinsault, Grenache, Mourvedre and Carignan, the 2012 Rose has pretty strawberry, dried cranberry and tinges of minerality in a medium-bodied, lively and dry style. Drink it over the coming 6-8 months. Drink now.  Jeb Dunnuck.

Pinot Noirs

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2010
90 points. Anthony Dias Blue, Tasting Panel- June 2013
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2013
Starting off the reds, the 2010 Pinot Noir is a beauty! From vines planted in 1964 and aged 18 months in mostly neutral oak, it offers up a pretty, elegant profile with notions of wild strawberries, cherry, dried flowers and spice flowing to a medium-bodied, supple palate. Already approachable and ready to go, it should continue to drink nicely for 3-4 years. Drink now-2017.  Jeb Dunnuck

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2008
91 points. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine -February 2011
"...Very long on optimally ripened, black-cherry fruit and decked out with lots of sweet oak, this wine is unwavering in its keen varietal focus and, after a bit of a bit of bluster to start, surprises by being both big and well-balanced."

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Estate Vineyard Reserve 2007
91 points. Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010

"Bright red. High-pitched aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry and Asian spices are complemented by a subtle smoky quality. Zesty and precise, with tangy red berry flavors that show very good focus and pick up a touch of allspice in the mid-palate. A suave, elegant wine that belies both the vintage and the region, where too many pinots are dull and roasted."

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2006
94 points. The Wine Enthusiast - May 2009 TOP 100 WINES OF THE YEAR!

"This bottling is always quite good, but it excels in 2006. Shows lusher, more exotic notes than ever before, just oozing in tiers of black and red cherry compote, currants, mocha, cinnamon, anise and pepper flavors. Finishes thoroughly dry, a beautifully crafted Pinot that will change your mind about Paso Robles."

ADELAIDA Pinot Noir HMR Vineyard 2002
91 Points. Two Puffs, Good Value, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - February 2005

"Nicely fruited and very well-focused from its first sniff through to its lengthy finish, this impeccably balanced wine gets its admirable ratings without resorting to blatant ripeness or excessive oak. Its touches of vanillin spice serve as a comfortable counterpoint to its ongoing themes of juicy red cherries, and its supple, slightly velvety feel is the stuff of very good Pinot Noir. If certainly capable of getting better over the next few years, it is delicious right now and invites near-term enjoyment."

Red Rhône Blends

ADELAIDA Version Red Anna's Vineyard RESERVE 2011
91+ points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - August 2013
Complex and elegant, with bright, brambly aromas and flavors, the 2011 Version Reserve checks in as a blend of 50% Mourvedre, 38% Syrah and 12% Grenache. Blackberry, raspberry, underbrush, spring flowers and spice all emerge from the glass and this medium to full-bodied blend has juicy, lively acidity, solid overall balance and plenty of length. Enjoy it over the coming 7-8 years. Drink now-2021.  This high-quality Paso Robles estate consistently produces a bevy of superb wines. Jeb Dunnuck.

ADELAIDA Version Red Anna's Vineyard 2010
90 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
The 2010 Version (Red) is an attractive GSM blend. Darker fruit notes dominate in the Version 2010, one of the richer, more explosive wines in the Adelaida range. Firm tannins support a wine that isn’t ready to show all its cards just yet. Unlike the vast majority of these wines from Adelaida, the Version 2010 could benefit from another 6-12 months in bottle. Sweet mentholated and spiced notes wrap around the deep finish. The blend is 37% Mourvedre, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 13% Cinsault.
90 points, Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2013
A Rhone styled blend of 37% Mourvedre, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah and the balance Cinsault, the 2010 Version Glenrose Vineyard is a medium-bodied, balanced effort that gives up quality sweet red berry fruit, underbrush, herbes de Provence and dried flowers. This lively, fresh 2010 is ready to go now, yet should continue to drink well through 2017. Drink now-2017. Jeb Dunnuck.

ADELAIDA Version Red Anna's Vineyard 2009
92 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2012
Juicy dark cherries, tobacco, incense and cedar emerge from the 2009 Version Red Anna’s Vineyard. A distinctive floral quality to the Version Red, probably from the Grenache, gives the wine an attractive, sensual dimension to its personality. A long, silky yet intense finish rounds things out in style. The blend is 44% Mourvedre, 23% Grenache, 20% Syrah and a drop of Cinsault. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
92 points and Gold Medal, Los Angeles International Wine Competition- June 2012

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2008
95 points. Los Angeles International  Wine & Spirits Competition- June 2011
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"The 2008 Version is an absolutely delicious, joyous red bursting with fruit. A bright vein of minerality underpins dark cherries, flowers, licorice and sweet spices, all of which come together nicely on a mid-weight frame. It is a relatively floral, red fruited wine considering the prevalence of Mourvedre and Syrah in the blend." -Antonio Galloni
91 points. Wine Enthusiast - November 2011

"With this Mourvedre-dominated wine, Adelaida vies for supremacy in the red Rhône-syle competition.  The wine is rich in jammy cherry, raspberry and blackberry jam fruit, with smoky oak overtones and lots of exotic spices.  The richness is balanced by acidity and firmly sweet, ripe tannins.  An impressive wine to drink with Indian food, or a steak wtih french fried potatoes."

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2007
92 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate -August 2010

"The serious, Provencal-inspired 2007 Version, a blend of 42% Mourvedre, 22% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 9% Counoise, and 7% Cinsault, has a beautifully complex nose of roasted herbs, black cherries, black currants, lavender, and tobacco leaf. It’s a dead ringer for a peppery southern Rhône. Silky, round, full-bodied flavors coat the mouth, but are never heavy or cloying. This is a beauty to drink over the next 5-6 years."
Best in Class. San Francisco International Wine Competition 2010

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2006
91 points. The Wine Advocate, Robert Parker, Jr. -August 2009

"The sexy 2006 Version Proprietary Red (38% Mourvedre, 28% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and tiny amounts of Counoise and Cinsault) offers seductive notes of kirsch liqueur, black currants, forest floor, loamy soil, pepper, and spice. This Mediterranean-styled red is broad, full-bodied, and savory without a hard edge to be found. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. It is an excellent bargain for a wine of this quality. "

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) White Glenrose Vineyard 2006
91 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2008

"The superb 2006 Grenache Blanc/Roussanne from Glenrose Vineyard possesses classic notes of honeysuckle, rose petals, flowers, and tropical fruit. Impressively deep, rich, and dry with a gorgeous texture, this beauty can be drunk now and over the following two years."

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red Glenrose Vineyard 2005
90 points. The Wine Advocate, Issue 177, Robert Parker, Jr. - June 2008

"The 2005 Version Proprietary Red Wine Glenrose Vineyard is a combination of 40% Mourvedre, 27% Syrah, and small amounts of Counoise, Grenache, and Cinsault. Its complex Cotes du Rhône-like bouquet includes scents of figs, plums, cherries, underbrush, earth, and forest floor. It is an outstanding example of a Rhone Ranger made in a French style. Drink it over the next 5-6 years."
Double Gold. The 2008 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition.

ADELAIDA Version (Rhône Style) Red 2004
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007
"
The medium ruby-hued 2004 Version Proprietary Red is a blend of 34% Mourvedre, 22% Syrah, 18% Grenache, 14% Counoise, and 12% Cinsault from the Glenrose Vineyard. This is a complex, dark ruby-hued red displaying a big, sweet nose of spice box, pepper, plums, currants, loamy soil, and leafy vegetation. Lush, round, and nearly opulent, this is a seductive, fairly priced effort to enjoy over the next 3-4 years. Bravo!"

Cinsaut

ADELAIDA Cinsaut Anna's Vineyard 2010
90 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
The 2010 Cinsault Anna's Vineyard jumps from the glass with an exciting mélange of sweet red cherries, pomegranate, mint, wild flowers and sweet spices. Silky and elegant, the 2010 impresses for its length, texture and clean finish. There is a lot to like here.

Grenache

ADELAIDA Grenache 2010
91 points.
ADELAIDA Grenache 2008
92 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011
"
The estate's 2008 Grenache Noir opens with high-toned aromatics that meld into a core of red cherries, raspberries, crushed flowers and tobacco. This soft, accessible Grenache seems ideal for near-term drinking."  - Antonio Galloni
90 points. Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine -July 2011
"...This wine is balanced but not especially tannic and seems to invite early drinking even though it clearly has the depth and solidity to last for several years yet. Grenache may be a work in progress in California, but this one makes a great case for optimism about the grape's future."

ADELAIDA Grenache 2007
90 points. Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010
"
Vivid ruby. Intensely perfumed scents of red berry preserves, dried rose, incense and licorice, along with a spicy undertone. Sweet raspberry and cherry flavors show very good clarity, silky texture and an exotic floral pastille quality. Eerily pinot-like, with excellent finishing freshness and persistence. The altitude of this vineyard was a huge benefit in this hot vintage, Culton told me."

Syrahs

ADELAIDA Syrah Anns' Vineyard 2011
90 points. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wines- February 2014
"A tad more direct at its heart than its year-older partners above but very well-endowed with generously laid-on Syrah fruit and plenty of range, it brings hints of earth, forest floor, roasted meat, dark chocolate and creamy oak together in an outgoing package. It is viscous in feel, and its expressive flavors are nicely balanced by underlying acidity. Still, this is one that we would suggest for current and nearer-term enjoyment while its mates enjoy some quite time in the cellar."

ADELAIDA Syrah Anna's Vineyard Block 6 Reserve 2010
93 points. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate- August 2013
A beautiful Syrah, the 2010 Syrah Reserve Block 6 Anna’s Estate Vineyard delivers a savory, layered profile with smoky black currants, raspberry, lead pencil, spice box and plenty of dried herbs to go with a medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced palate. Rich, textured and structured, it should evolve gracefully for 10-12 years. Drink now-2022. Jeb Dunnuck.
92 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
The 2010 Syrah Block 6 Anna's Reserve brings together the power of the Viking Vineyard Reserve Syrah, but with more inner sweetness, perfume and silkiness, all of which serve to tame some of the tannic heft. A sexy, voluptuous wine, the 2010 has plenty of near-term appeal, but it should also drink well for at least another handful of years. Layers of dark mineral-infused black fruits inform the deep, resonant finish. This is a gorgeous wine from Adelaida.

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Vineyards Reserve 2010
94 points.  Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2013
More concentrated and rich, with knockout dark fruits, toast, spice box and hints of chocolate, the 2010 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate Vineyard is full-bodied, deeply fruited and yet beautifully balanced and classy. As with the Block 6 Syrah, it has solid underlying structure and will have over a decade of longevity. Drink now-2022. Jeb Dunnuck.
90 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
Dark cherries, plums, smoke, menthol, tar and licorice blast from the glass in the 2010 Syrah Viking Vineyard Reserve. One of the more muscular, virile wines in the range, the 2010 is going to require another year or so for some of the imposing tannins to start receding a bit. While the Anna's Syrah is all about grace, the Viking is distinctly powerful and brooding in style.
92 points. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar- 2013

"Inky ruby.  Heady, spicy aromas of cassis, blueberry preserves, violet pastille and vanilla, with a smoky topnote.  Dark berry liqueur flavors show intense sweetness but maintain vivacity thanks to bright minerality and a jolt of cracked pepper.  This lush yet lively syrah finishes with sweet black and blue fruit qualities, supple tannins and excellent persistence." Josh Reynolds

ADELAIDA Syrah Anna's Vineyard 2010
92 points. Antonio Galloni, Vinous- August 2013
The 2010 Syrah Anna's Vineyard stands out for its silky, polished personality. This is an especially refined Syrah that emphasizes persistence, finesse and balance. "The 2009 Syrah Reserve Viking Vineyard emerges from the glass with juicy dark cherries, plums, flowers, leather and savory herbs. It shows a level of nuance, depth and sheer vibrancy that is missing from some of the other wines in this lineup. Layers of fruit build to the rich, intense finish. This is a terrific showing from Adelaida. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019." - Antonio Galloni

ADELAIDA Syrah Anna’s Vineyard 2009
92 points.  Robert Parker Jr.,  The Wine Advocate - August 2012

"Serious depth and sheer power take center stage in the 2009 Syrah Anna’s Vineyard. Varietal notes of plums, dark cherries, black pepper and game meld into rich fruit in this explosive, full-bodied Syrah. This is an especially intense style of Syrah, but it is also beautifully balanced." - Antonio Galloni

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Reserve 2008
92+ points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011

"The 2008 Syrah Reserve Viking Vineyard is a big, bold wine loaded with blue and black fruit. Darker hints of licorice, tar and violets develop in the glass, but ultimately this is pretty tamed Syrah that shows the more elegant side of the grape's personality. Firm yet well integrated tannins frame the finish." - Antonio Galloni

Bright purple. Fragrant bouquet evokes black and blue fruits, violet and smoky Indian spices. Lush and creamy in texture, with very good depth to its dark fruit preserve flavors. Silky tannins add shape and grip to the long, juicy, very energetic finish.

ADELAIDA Syrah Anna's Vineyard 2008
91 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2011

"The 2008 Syrah Anna's Vineyard is a gorgeous, beautifully balanced wine laced with blueberries, blackberries and sweet spices. It shows impeccable polish from start to finish, along with an elegant, refined personality. This is a stunning wine for the money." - Antonio Galloni
90 points. Stephen Tanzer, Int'l Wine Cellar - November/December 2011
Bright purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, olive and Indian spices. Displays textbook syrah flavors of smoky dark berries, olive and candied flowers. Seductive right now but building tannins suggest that this wine will age slowly. The finish repeats the smoke and floral notes and hangs on tenaciously.

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2006
94 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2009

"The 2006 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate is a French Hermitage-like effort made from the Estrella clone of Syrah (believed to have come from Chapoutier’s Hermitage vineyards). A chalky character interwoven with copious quantities of damp earth, licorice, lavender, blackberries, and cassis are followed by a full-bodied, gorgeously proportioned, layered, superbly concentrated wine displaying tremendous persistence as well as length. Both subtle and powerful, it is a brilliant example of west side Paso Robles Syrah. "

"Made in a lighter style, the 2005 Syrah Reserve Glenrose Vineyard displays a hint of bacon fat, a restrained oak component, and Crozes-Hermitage-like notes of tapenade, herbs, and black fruits. This medium-bodied Syrah should drink nicely for 3-4 years."

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2004
90 points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2007

"The most structured, aromatic, complex, and richest is the 2004 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate Vineyard. Copious quantities of black raspberry jam-like notes intermixed with cassis, spring flowers, licorice, and earth emerge from this medium to full-bodied effort. Good freshness and length suggest it will last for 5-6 years."

ADELAIDA Syrah Chelle Mountain Vineyard Reserve 2004
92 points. The Wine Enthusiast- May 2008

"Here’s a wine that grabs your attention for its complex, authoritative structure. The York Mountain AVA is in a cooler, hilly part of western Paso Robles, wide open to Pacific influence, and you can taste the salty sea breeze in the crisp acidity and fine tannins, not to mention the white pepper flavors that give a piquant spiciness to the blackberries and mocha. Drink this fine young Syrah now, or hold for up to six years."

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2003
91 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - August 2006

"From a limestone vineyard planted in 1992, the impressive, dark ruby/purple-tinged 2003 Syrah Reserve Viking Vineyard boasts a beautifully pure bouquet of white flowers, blackberries, and a hint of toasty oak. Full-bodied, structured, and rich with ripe tannin, abundant fruit, and plenty of extract, this dense, well-balanced Syrah will drink well for a decade."

ADELAIDA Syrah Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2002
91 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005

"The 2002 Syrah Reserve Viking Estate exhibits a saturated color in addition to smoky, blackberry, and black tea aromas intermixed with notions of lard, oak, and underbrush. Pure and ripe, with a tightly-knit, structured, big personality, it requires another 1-2 years of bottle age, and should drink well for a decade." 91 Points, Two Puffs, Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine - July 2006

ADELAIDA Syrah 2002
90 Points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate - June 2005

"Readers seeking an open-knit Syrah, with abundant notes of bacon fat and smoke should check out the 2002 Syrah from three vineyards, Glenrose, DeBro, and Viking. This medium-bodied, elegant effort offers attractive perfume, finesse rather than power, and admirable purity as well as depth. Drink it over the next 3-4 years."

Cabernet Sauvignon

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Vineyard RESERVE 2010
92+ points. Robert Parker Jr., The Wine Advocate- August 2013
A pretty, classic Cabernet, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve offers up pure and clean aromas and flavors of black currants, mint, tobacco and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, balanced and very fresh on the palate, with firm underling tannin, it should benefit from short-term cellaring and have 15 years or more of ultimate longevity. Drink 2016-2025. Jeb Dunnuck.
91 points. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar. 2013

"Aromas of cassis, cherry compote, pipe tobacco and vanillin oak, with an exotic note of cured olive emerging with air.  Fleshy, sweet and seamless in texture, offering powerful dark fruit preserve flavors and a hint of fruitcake.  Fine-grained tannins give shape to the finish, which features a sexy floral nuance." Josh Reynolds.

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Vineyard RESERVE 2009
92 points. Connoisseur's Guide to California Wine- April 2013
There is no missing the lavish oak that colors this wine at most every stop, but, from its very rich and wide open aromas to its layered, wonderfully persistent flavors, it is deep and generous fruit takes the starring role all the same. Full-bodied and supple with an especially fine texture and gentle, carefully tailored tannins, this one speaks to both optimal ripeness and very good balance and ends with an exceptionally long finish. Inviting right now and so nicely polished that it does not demand lengthy aging, it is certain to last for years.

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2007
91 points. Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010

"Vivid ruby. Ripe blackcurrant, cherry-vanilla and mocha on the nose. Broad, palate-staining dark fruit flavors are framed by supple tannins and pick up spice and candied licorice qualities with air. Becomes sweeter on the finish, with the cherry and spice notes repeating. Pretty sexy wine, with the depth to age but round and sweet enough to enjoy young."

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah Chelle Mountian Vineyard Reserve 2007
90 points. Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar -November 2010

"Opaque purple. Sexy, perfumed and complex on the nose, displaying scents of candied dark fruits, cherry-cola and smoked meat. The syrah is making a statement today. Rich and fleshy, with broad blackcurrant and boysenberry flavors that show a slightly roasted quality. Fresher on the finish, which leaves sappy red and dark berry and vanilla notes behind. This could stand up to an assertively seasoned piece of grilled red meat."

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2005
91 points. Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar - Nov/Dec 2008

"Opaque ruby. Powerfully aromatic bouquet of raspberry, blueberry, smoked meat, incense and vanilla. Lush and creamy, offering sweet black and blue fruit flavors and a suave musky herb quality. Quite rich but surprisingly lively, with excellent finishing grip and thrust."

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Viking Estate Vineyard Reserve 2004

"This wine is soft with some nice layers, and delicious in blackberry, cherry, currant, licorice and smoky oak flavors that finish dry, with a scour of sweet tannins"

ADELAIDA Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve 2004
90 points. Connoisseur's Guide- April 2008

"Of the three ripe and rich Cabernets from Adelaida, this one is the most mannerly. Its aromas of black plums, black cherries, walnuts, cassis and creamy oak are inviting at the first sniff, and they only get richer and deeper as the wine airs. It has a smooth, almost gentle feel at entry, but it comes with firming acids and enough tannin to be solid in its latter half and to pro-vide a bit of aging potential as well."

Cabernet Franc

ADELAIDA Cabernet Franc Reserve 2010
90 points. Stephen Tanzr's International Wine Cellar Reveiw
"Smoke- and herb-accented black and blue fruits on the nose and palate.  Deeply pitched but lively, with a sexy spicecake nuance gaining strength with air.  Dusty tannins give grip to the finish, which clings with impressive tenacity and appealing sweetness." Josh Reynolds.

A big, boisterous effort, the 2010 Zinfandel Michael’s Vineyard is loaded with sweet red berry fruit, briar, herbes de Provence and spice-styled aromas and flavors. Straight up delicious, with medium to full-body, big texture and sweet fruit, it stays light and classy, and is a joy to drink. It should continue to deliver the goods for 4-5 years. Drink now-2018. Jeb Dunnuck.
