Anna's Estate Vineyard
90 points - Connoisseurs' Guide
Grenache 37%, Mourvedre 21%, Cinsaut 18%, Counoise 14%, Syrah 10%
"None of Adelaida's wines shy away from full ripeness, and this expressive, big-bodied blend will never be accused of delicacy or understatement, but it is a deeply filled working that is rife with well-defined strawberryish fruit and its deft accents of toast, sweet cream and stones afford a measure of genuine complexity." - Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (March 2016)
Our Anna’s Red is a Rhône-style blend mirroring the classic wines of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape using estate-grown grapes from our mountain vineyards in the coastal hills of Paso Robles. Sometimes referred to as a “GSM”, an acronym for the major components of the blend, i.e. Grenache, Syrah ,and Mourvèdre.
The wine is softly textured, tasting of mulled strawberries and savory flavors reminiscent of roasting pan juices and wild thyme.
Aromas: Strawberry and blackberry compote, herbs de Provence, and hazelnut liqueur
Flavors: Sautéed strawberries with allspice, light veal stock, sage, and thyme
