Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills 2011
La Encantada Vineyard
"It's a very fine bottle" - Wine Enthusiast
Pinot Noir La Encantada Vineyard 2011
 Case of 12

"The wine is ripe in cherries and raspberries, yet has deeper, earthier notes of mushrooms, cola and herbs, finished with spices. It's a very fine bottle that's ready to drink now, and should develop over the next six years."

-91 Points. Wine Enthusiast

La Encantada lies on Santa Rosa Road, 1 mile from the celebrated Sanford and Benedict Vineyard, some 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean. This newly created appellation, within the larger Santa Barbara AVA sits on a hilly marine influenced corridor over marl and rocky soils. Planted by Richard Sanford in 2000 this certified organic vineyard is located on a ridge which straddles the Santa Ynez River Valley and receives the full impact of the cooling afternoon breezes. A late season pick resulting from the unusually cool vintage of 2011 gave us ripe fruit with firm natural acidity.

Tasting Notes

AROMA: violet pastille, tart berries, cranberry jam FLAVOR: crisp, cool climate fruit, chiseled minerality, pomegranates Drink now through 2017.
