ONLINE ACCOUNT |
Do I already have an online account if I’m a wine club member? back to top |
No. Currently, our wine club and online databases are separate. That being said, if you are a wine club member, it is your option to create an online account. Once you've created the account, we will then alter your customer type so that your 20% discount is automatically applied to online orders. The online account provides you with a convenient way to order, and also allows you to submit billing and/or shipping information electronically. Please note: you will not be able to login to your online account (even if you are a wine club member) until you create the account! |
How do I set up my online account? back to top |
You can setup an online account by visiting our online store. To create a new account, you need to enter a valid email address and create a password (note: this does not have the same email address as the one you used when joining the wine club; although, it is recommended). It is up to you to decide how much additional information you would like to store online. |
Will creating an online account result in a double wine club membership? back to top |
No. The wine club database and online database are separate entities. If you create an online account, we will not duplicate your wine club membership. However, we will use your online account for "up to date" customer information. For example, if you enter a credit card online and mark it as your primary credit card, we will update the wine club database with that card. |
How do I place an online order? back to top |
You can place an online order by visiting our online store. You can login with your email and password if you have previously created an online account; otherwise, you will need to create a new online account before submitting your order. |
What do I do if my club discount was not applied to my online order? back to top |
Don't worry! We can adjust your order on the backend after it has been submitted. Just contact Jessica at 1.800.676.1232 x 19 or jvalpey@adelaida.com. |
Can I change my order once wines are placed in my “shopping cart”? back to top |
Yes. Your shopping cart is editable (meaning items can be removed or added) until you go through the entire checkout process. If you submit your order and decide you want to change it, you can do so as long as we have not already shipped your order. If you need to make adjustments to your order, please call 1.800.676.1232 x 14. |
What are the payment options for online orders? back to top |
You can pay for an online order with a valid Visa or MasterCard. If you prefer to pay for an order by check, please contact the winery at 1.800.676.1232. |

SHIPPING |
What are my shipping options? back to top |
You can select to ship via UPS or FedEx. When you add items to your shopping cart, you can select different shipping options (and you can also view shipping charges). You may also request to pick up your wine at the winery. |
Which states can you ship to? back to top |
Please visit our shipping policy. Feel free to contact the winery with any specific questions. |
What are the shipping charges? back to top |
Our charges for UPS ground shipments are as follows: within CA (1-6 bottles=$13, 7-12 bottles=$20), out of state (1-6 bottles = $16, 7-12 bottles = $30). Charges vary for FedEx and UPS 2nd Day Air. |
Can I ship to multiple recipients? back to top |
Yes. When you add items to your online shopping cart, you have the option to select various ship-to addresses. If you'd rather place an order via telephone, feel free to call the winery at 1.800.676.1232. |
|
AFTER MY ORDER IS SUBMITTED |
Can I change my order after submitting it? back to top |
Yes - as long as the order has not already been shipped! If you need to change your order, please call the winery at 1.800.676.1232 x 14. We can make the necessary adjustments to your order as long as the order has not left the warehouse. |
When will I receive my wine? back to top |
The best way to determine when your wine will arrive is to track it (via the UPS or FedEx tracking number) after the wine has left our warehouse. However, if you are shipping to a CA address, the wine typically arrives in 1 - 2 days. Delivery time varies greatly between different states. |
Do I need to be home to sign for my shipment? back to top |
Yes! Someone age 21 or older must be at the shipping address to sign for a wine delivery. That being said, we highly recommend shipping to a business address. If you do not have a business address that will accept wine shipments, be aware that UPS will attempt to deliver your wine three times before returning it to the winery. |
How can I track my package? back to top |
If you order online, a tracking number will automatically be sent to your email address. If you order via phone or fax, your tracking number will be sent to you as long as we have your email address on file. |
|
AFTER I RECEIVE MY WINES |
Is there an easy way to reorder the same wines? back to top |
Yes - if you ordered online, you can login to your account and request to reorder a previously placed order. If you ordered via phone, fax, or in the tasting room, you can simply give us your order number and we can duplicate your order. |
What if the wine I want is sold out? back to top |
If you would like to order a wine that is listed as "sold out", please contact the winery. Depending on the wine, we may have a small amount stored away for Tribe and Club Viking members. |
How should I store my wine? back to top |
The ideal location for storing wine is a temperature and humidity controlled wine cellar; however, this is often unrealistic for the average wine collector. When storing wines, it is important to remember that some wines are more sensitive during the aging process. White wines are more vulnerable to changes from light and heat than red wines, so a dark, cool closet/cabinet or the refrigerator is ideal. (Remember though --- it a white wine is served too cold, the nose and palate may suffer!). If you have invested in a wine rack, it has been suggested that the white wines should be stored below the red wines (because heat rises). When storing any wine, white or red, you should avoid direct light and temperature fluctuations. Air circulation is also important (to prevent mold), especially for red wines. Wherever you are storing your wines, it is best to store the bottles on their sides. This allows the wine to stay in contact with the cork and prevents air from getting into the wine. You should also avoid storing wine near foods that are capable of fermenting. |
How long will my wine last? back to top |
The answer to this depends on the wine and the storing conditions! In general, red wines are better aging wines. In addition to cellar conditions, the agibility depends on the grape variety, the vintage, and the bottle size. Tannins, which come from the grape stems and skins, are the backbone of the aging process. Tannins produce a sharp, bitter taste, which over time will soften and allow the other characteristics of the wine to come forth. Because white wines have less tannins than red wines, they typically do not age as long. Please visit our vintage chart to get information on specific wines and vintages. |
